Safe Candle Making Starts with the Right Size

At Foton, we follow the simple and effective 4-2-1 Safety Rule:

✅ 4 - Container Size

• Must be at least 4 inches wide at its narrowest point

• This ensures the candle wax beads melt evenly and avoids overheating

• Our melt pool typically reaches 2–3 inches wide, so using a single wick in a 4-inch container keeps the melted pearls safely away from the edges.

✅ 2 - Wick Placement

• Center the wick and keep it at least 2 inches from all edges and decor

• Use only one wick in a 4-inch container to leave 2 inches of space around the wick
  

✅ 1 - Wax Depth

• Ensure there’s at least 1 inch of wax pearls below the wick so the wick would never touch the container. 

• This depth helps the candle self-extinguish when it runs out, reducing the risk of overheating and protecting the candle bowl from damage.

By following this size guidance, almost anything, including wooden containers can be used with your Foton pearls —as long as they’re the right size and you follow these safety tips.
