Step By Step to create your floating candle:
Pick your Container: We recommend heat-resistant containers for added safety, the primary consideration is to ensure the vase is at least 4 inches wide at its narrowest part for a single-wick candle. This is to ensure that the melt pool will never reach the container’s edge, so the container won’t heat up. It also makes cleanup easier as the melting pearls won’t reach the edge, so nothing sticks.
Add Your Decor: Start by arranging your chosen decorations in the vase. Whether it’s vibrant blooms, elegant stones, or holiday decorations, make it match your style and aesthetic. In this one, we added decorative rocks to the bottom, and some fresh flowers. Pro tip: hot glue any florals to the bottom of the vase or stuff the stems between decorative rocks to keep them from floating.
Add Water: Pour water into the vase until the decorations are completely submerged. This creates a beautiful backdrop for your floating candles.
Add Foton pearls: Pour at least a 3-inch height of Foton White Pearls on top of the water. This ensures you have enough to keep the wick from touching the water in the next step to maximize burn time. It’s important to note that our colored products are not suitable for floating candles, so keep that in mind when planning your decor. Only the WHITE FOTON PEARLS FLOAT, both scented and unscented.
Add the Wick: Ensure that the bottom of the wick does not touch the water. That means 1" minimum of pearls under the wick. This is crucial to ensure they burn properly and create the enchanting glow you’re aiming for.

After you’re done enjoying your floating candle, you can still reuse the pearls so nothing would go to waste. You can simply scoop the pearls out with a spoon or catch them on a fine mesh strainer, then allow them to air dry on paper towels before reusing. The more you spread them out, the faster they will dry.
